Visual Arts

Middle School student works on an art project.

Through painting and drawing, pottery and sculpture, your child will experience the wide variety of visual arts. A visual arts education begins in preschool and continues through the High School (Upper School).

Students learn a variety of techniques from Minnehaha faculty as well as guest instructors who are professionals in their field of study.

Minnehaha faculty will often incorporate arts into other fields of study to develop engaging and creative lessons that mix the arts with history, math, music, or language.

Student Models Maria Lemmons Clothing Design

"I'm interested in going into industrial or product design eventually. My dream job would be to have my own fashion line, but I'd be happy doing any sort of design or entrepreneurship. So for AP Art Mr. Stromberg and I spent some time brainstorming and developed the idea of sewing dresses with non-fabric materials." -Maria Lemmons
