Summer Academy

Summer Academy offers a summer academic boost through small-group tutoring. With small groups, teachers can tailor instruction to meet the specific needs of each student.

This course is designed to support the continuation and enhancement of academic skills in a group setting, rather than providing remediation for significant academic needs, which typically requires one-on-one intervention.

Teachers will help students build on their strengths while also addressing areas that need improvement. Each experienced, licensed teacher will work with a group of five or fewer students in reading, writing, and math.

A variety of methods and activities will be used, including practice drills, projects, games, and discussions. The morning schedule will be divided into three sections, each focusing on a specific subject, with a short break between sections. A required information sheet must be submitted before the start of the session as part of the registration process.

This course is suitable for: 

  • Students who are performing below grade level and need support to meet expectations for the upcoming school year.
  • Students who are performing at grade level and want to maintain their skills over the summer.
  • Students who are performing above grade level and would like to enrich their skills during the summer.

Summer Academy Schedule & Fees

  • Dates: June 9 - 20 (Weeks 1-2)  
    (No camp Thursday, June 19)
  • Grades: Students entering Grades 1–8
  • Time: 8:30 am - 12:00 pm
  • Fee: $375/two-week session
  • Location: Elementary & Middle School

 

  • Dates: June - 23 - July 3 (Weeks 3-4)
    (No camp Friday, July 4)
  • Grades: Students entering Grades 1–8
