Online Privacy

COPPA

Minnehaha Academy is committed to providing our students with the most effective educational digital tools, programs, and applications with security, privacy, and safety at the forefront of our implementation. In order for our students to utilize some of these services, basic student information must be provided to third-parties. Under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), these tools and applications must notify parents and obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting this information from children under 13 years of age.

Therefore, upon enrollment, along with parental consent, Minnehaha Academy may, at its discretion, consent to the collection of student information on a parent’s behalf consisting of first name, last name, and a school-issued email address — this eliminates the need for individual parental consent for each website, tool, service, or application. For additional information regarding COPPA, please view their FAQ.

Google Workspace for Education

To ensure equal access for all students and comply with online safety laws, Minnehaha Academy will create and maintain a Google Workspace for Education account for your child. For additional information on how Google products and services collect and use information please visit their Privacy Notice.
