Academic Support Services
At Minnehaha Academy, we are committed to fostering an environment where every student—from preschool through grade 12—can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We believe that each child is uniquely created by God and possesses the potential for exceptional academic growth and achievement.
Collaborative Individualized Learning Plans
Recognizing the unique strengths and needs of each student, we partner closely with families to develop Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) for students with documented learning needs. These plans are thoughtfully designed to provide appropriate accommodations within the scope of our available resources, ensuring that every student receives the support necessary to flourish. This collaborative process encourages students to take ownership of their learning, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
Comprehensive Support Services
Our dedicated Student Support Team—including counselors, learning specialists, and administrators—is committed to nurturing a supportive school community. The team meets weekly to assess student needs and develop personalized support interventions. Through this coordinated approach, we strive to foster both personal and academic growth, enabling students to engage meaningfully in our academic environment.
Transition Planning
We understand that transitions between grade levels can be both exciting and challenging for students. Our Student Support Team works proactively to ensure smooth transitions by facilitating communication among teachers, administrators, families, and students. We review each student’s Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) and academic history to maintain continuity of support and address emerging needs. As students move from preschool to Lower, Middle, and Upper School, we provide intentional guidance to help them adapt to new academic expectations, routines, and social environments and build the confidence they need to thrive.
