A Letter from the Principal

Upper School Principal, Dr. Mike Dinardo in Fireplace Commons

Dear Parents,

We are excited to welcome students back to the Upper School on Thursday, August 27, for the start of the 2020-21 school year! We have missed seeing the students in the halls, connecting with them, worshipping with them, and sharing in their highs and lows. You have received the School’s comprehensive plan from Dr. Harris so now I’m happy to share additional information specific to the Upper School. Our top priority is to create a safe and healthy environment for all students, faculty, and staff, while providing high-quality, in-person, on campus learning. The key will be to have high standards of health practices and keep a safe social distance from each other to minimize any transmission of illness. My theme for this year is “Stay apart so we can stay together!”

Our plans have been driven by our mission and our core values and our teachers have been working extremely hard this summer to be prepared for all possible teaching and learning scenarios. We have adjusted our daily schedule to better foster student growth and well-being, and the new model is one that will translate smoothly to distance learning if we need to do that for a period of time.

Please watch for an email regarding the completion of important forms in Skyward and complete those forms in a timely manner. Students’ class schedules and information about the first week of school will be sent by mail to arrive the week of August 10.

Know that we are praying for you, for your health and safety, and for a great year ahead!

Dr. Mike DiNardo
Upper School Principal
