Letters from Leadership

January 13, 2021

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! I hope you made some great memories with your families during the holidays. The promise of a new year brings the hope of new things God will do to demonstrate his love and faithfulness to us. Below, I offer an excerpt from a New Year’s prayer from Billy Graham, written for the Saturday Evening Post in 2008.

In my last communication on November 11, I shared that Middle and Upper School students would return to in-person learning on Tuesday, January 19. We have not altered our plans and look forward to the return of students next week. We have missed the rhythm of in-person learning and look forward to being back together.

Our highest priority continues to be the health, safety and well-being of students, faculty, and staff, so the health protocols (frequent hand washing, masks, social distancing, etc.) that have been in place since August to reduce virus transmission will continue to be reinforced. As a reminder, please make sure to complete the health screening for your children on Parent Square each morning before they enter the buildings.

Minnehaha’s health professionals will remain in regular contact with the Minnesota Department of Health to stay apprised of Covid updates related to schools, facilitate contact tracing at Minnehaha, and be the point of contact for Covid-related communications within the Minnehaha school community.

Blessings,

Donna Harris, Ed.D.
President, Minnehaha Academy
