A Letter from the Principal
Dear Parents,
We are excited to welcome your child(ren) back to the Lower School on Thursday, August 27! You’ve received the School’s comprehensive plan from Dr. Harris, and I’m eager to share additional information specific to Lower School. As you have heard before, our top priority is creating a safe and healthy environment for all students, faculty and staff, while providing in-person, on campus learning.
Our plans have been driven by our mission and our core values. We have created an innovative, powerful new framework to foster student growth, and the new model is one that will translate smoothly to distance learning if we need to do that for a period of time.
There are some important steps we need you to take regarding Distance Learning, pick-up and drop-off, and other items. Please see our action items for parents for details and deadlines.
An exciting day is Orientation Day! Orientation Day is an opportunity for you and your child to meet your classroom teacher, teaching assistant, and see your child’s instructional space. Specialists will also be available and eager to greet you. During your Orientation Day visit you will also take your school picture, pick up your child’s Minnehaha masks (each student will receive two), and our school store will be open to purchase Minnehaha gaiters and other spirit wear and supplies. Families will schedule their Orientation Day visit using a forthcoming link from ParentSquare.
Know that we are praying for you, for your health and safety, and for a great year ahead!
Karen Balmer
Lower School Principal
