Synchronized Swimming (Girls)
Overview
Minnehaha began offering Girls' Synchronized Swimming for the first time in the 2021-2022 school year. The team is a cooperative sponsorship along with Richfield High School and Academy of Holy Angels. Girls' Synchronized Swimming is open for girls in grades 7-12.
Synchronized swimming combines swimming, dance , and gymnastics—all underwater! It is a fun and challenging sport that is rewarding and offers fun new skills. Athletes will learn to swim, count music, dance, be a teammate, lift and throw teammates into the air and have fun doing it! There are two parts to synchronized swimming: figures and routines. A swimmer must do well in both areas to succeed at the State Championship Meet.
All ability levels are welcome! Knowing basic swim strokes and not being afraid to be underwater is helpful.
