Overview

The Minnehaha baseball team has a long history and tradition of competition and excellence in Minnesota. We take pride in creating a culture where student athletes can succeed on and off the field. They will be pushed in many ways to become the best student athlete possible.

The Redhawk baseball program is one of the most competitive programs in Class AA, highlighted by numerous state tournament appearances and back-to-back state championships in 2016 and 2017.

Minnehaha Baseball Team Culture

Our program is a family. I trust my players to work with our coaches to create an atmosphere which is positive, challenging, and rewarding.

Growing as a Baseball Player

Our hope is to have each player improve as young men throughout all our teams. We focus on being good teammates, having excellent work ethic, showing good sportsmanship, and embracing faith through sports. In addition, we expect our players to take ownership of the program and show leadership to our younger players as they get older.

Coaching Emphasis

Our focus from day one is to work on the fundamentals baseball. Our goal is to improve individually and as a team throughout the season.

Competition Level

Our goal is to be at the top of our conference and section. We expect our student athletes to work hard and push themselves to reach new heights.

Baseball & Faith Integration

Faith is integrated in our program daily. We work to use faith as part of our daily journey and it is the key element of our culture. We pray as a group often and have discussions as a group with the players, coaches, and Athletic Chaplain.

Baseball Team Traditions

We typically take members of the team to Florida each year for spring training. This trip continues to be one of the biggest highlights of the year.

• Season: Spring (mid-March and runs through mid-June)
• Grade Levels: 6-12 (grades 6-8 participate on the Middle School teams; grades 9-12  participate on Junior Varsity and Varsity teams)
• Competition Levels: Middle School, JV, and Varsity
• Practice Location: JV and Varsity practice at Nieman Sports Complex (Fort Snelling), Middle School practices at Hiawatha Park (4305 E 42nd St)
• Team Communication: Once you register for this sport, the coach will communicate with student-athletes and parents via email. 
• Equipment Requirements & Transportation: Detailed information can be found in the Athletic Team Info document.
• Location: Home games are played at Fort Snelling.
