Seven Questions: Mckenna

Seven Questions: Mckenna
Amy Barnard

Mckenna is an eleventh grader at Minnehaha Academy and is in her fifteenth year at the school. We asked her seven questions about herself and her time at the school.

  1. What is one moment at Minnehaha Academy you wish you could experience again?
I wish I could experience John Carlson's jokes, kind words, and generosity with his Dilly Bars again. He was such an important person to the Minnehaha community and embodied all it means to be an image-bearer.*

  2. If you could only attend one class at school for a whole semester, which would you pick?
Latin—it is so fun and underrated; you learn so much!

  3. Who is someone at school who inspires you?
Ms. Beck inspires me daily. Through her, I have learned to walk through life more joyfully and see the beauty and good in all of God's creation, small blessings, and each person.

  4. If you had the power to make one meaningful change in the world, what would it be?
To provide meaningful and affordable education for children in need all over the world, especially to young girls who are sometimes pushed to the margins of some societies.

  5. If you could see yourself in 20 years, what interesting job or adventure would you hope to be having?
I hope to work in the medical field providing aid to people's physical bodies and their spirits, as well as to have travel plans to the many corners of the world I wish to discover.

  6. How would you describe yourself in five words?
    Smiley, adventurous, joyful, bookworm, intentional

  7. What's the best piece of advice you've received?
The best piece of advice that I have received is from the Bible—particularly Philippians 4:6-8 and Ephesians 4:32, which discuss the peace of prayer, focusing on what is excellent and praiseworthy, and loving and forgiving the people around you.
