Seven Questions: Kyle

Seven Questions: Kyle
Amy Barnard

Kyle is a junior at Minnehaha Academy and is entering his third year at the school. We asked him seven questions about himself and his time at the school.

  1. What do you enjoy about MA?
At MA I feel like I've been given the freedom to express myself in ways that I would've thought impossible anywhere else. Whether it be with theatre, music, debate and speech, or the ISS team, I've found a community that I can truly trust and grow in.

A group of standings stands next to their poster presentation at the ASGSR conference

In the fall of 2024 Kyle and the International Space Station Research team presented their poster on their study of microalgae in space. They were able to share their work with NASA scientists and get feedback that helped with the trajectory of their overall project.

  2. Has anything at MA sparked a career interest for you?
The Debate Team and the MA Ambassador program have propelled me to consider a career in public policy, international affairs, or politics. Both programs have given me a platform to speak to people about real issues and meet eye to eye.

  3. What is something that you love to do in your free time?
I love practicing the flute or piccolo in my free time! It gives me peace and prepares me for whatever musical endeavor I embark on next.

I love listening to orchestral music. Tchaikovsky and Brahms electrify my mood and get me ready for the day!

  5. What is one of your favorite books?
The Biography of Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow.

  6. What is your superpower?
My superpower is my ability to uplift others by challenging people to go beyond what they might expect from themselves in a meaningful and encouraging way.

  7. What five words best describe you?
