Who's Who in the Upper School Administration

Nancy JohnsonUpper School Principal
Ms. Johnson directs the overall program of the Upper School, working with the members of the Upper School Administrative Team to provide leadership in fulfilling the mission of the school to provide a high-quality education integrating faith and learning. A large portion of Ms. Johnson’s time is devoted to the professional growth and advancement of Upper School faculty and staff. [Mary Kate Fretheim, Administrative Assistant]

Ken AndersonAthletic & Activities Director
Mr. Anderson oversees 27 boys and girls athletic programs at the Upper School. He also works with activities that come under the auspices of our Tri-Metro Conference. [Kris Anderson, Administrative Assistant]

Dan BergstromChaplain
Reverend Bergstrom not only serves as the Upper School Chaplain but also teaches a course (Reading the Bible) to all 9th Grade students. Through pastoral counseling, he helps meet the spiritual and personal needs of students, maintaining confidentiality and providing support as issues arise.

Caleb BjorklundAssociate Director of College and Guidance Counseling
Mr. Bjorklund works with Ms. Susan McAllister to ensure an appropriate college preparatory program for each student in the Upper School. This involves guiding students through the college admission process, including testing, scholarships, financial aid, and applications. He also provides help to students and families with social and emotional issues, referring them to outside agencies for further support, when needed.

Jeff CraftonChapel Coordinator
Dr. Crafton is responsible for the planning of all chapel activities and speakers. He also serves as the Department Chair of the Sacred Studies Department and teaches classes in that department.

Mike DiNardoAcademic Dean
Mr. DiNardo oversees student scheduling and registration, works with the counselors to oversee the academic program for each student, develops academic policies, and communicates academic progress through report cards and progress reports. Elaine EkstedtLearning Specialist
Ms. Ekstedt supports Upper School students with documented learning needs, some directly in the Upper School Learning Lab. She also serves as a resource to parents and faculty throughout the school.

Lance JohnsonDean of Students
Mr. Johnson oversees student discipline, student attendance, and student activities. He works closely with student leaders to foster a positive school climate and school spirit. Mr. Johnson also teaches physical education classes. [Terri Bergstrom, Administrative Assistant]

Sue McAllisterDirector of College and Guidance Counseling
Ms. McAllister works with Mr. Caleb Bjorklund to ensure an appropriate college preparatory program for each student in the Upper School. This involves guiding students through the college admission process, including testing, scholarships, financial aid, and applications. Jill WestermeyerAdvisory Coordinator
Ms. Westermeyer serves as the coordinator of the Advisory Program, overseeing the entire program and providing direction for Advisor activities. She also teaches in the Fine Arts Department.

Amy WissinkDirector of Cultural Immersion
Ms. Wissink works with community and international agencies to create opportunities for learning through cultural immersion. These opportunities include ongoing service-learning experiences for students throughout the school year, as well as the more structured week-long “May Term”. Ms. Wissink also teaches in the Science Department.
