We offer a variety of services for getting to school but below you'll also find information on parking as well as any forms you may need to get you to class on time!

Getting to School

Minnehaha Academy Transportation Service

Minnehaha Academy offers transportation for kindergarten through grade 12. We offer school bus community stops (in public parking lots) in the suburbs and attempt to get within one city block of residents in Minneapolis. Routes do change based on interest and are subject to change year to year. We have several transportation options that vary in cost. St. Paul residents can also use a free ride program for students though the city bus system. Register for transportation after you enroll. Your transportation request can be modified if you decide that you no longer wish to have transportation for your student. A $150 late fee is assessed if you request transportation after July 1.

Inter-Campus Shuttle

There is a scheduled route that takes students between Minnehaha Academy’s Upper School and Lower & Middle School campus each day.

Carpooling

Minnehaha Academy is a strong proponent of carpooling for those who are unable to make use of our transportation system. If you are interested in carpooling and would like to receive more information please fill out our Carpool Information Form.

Lower & Middle School

Morning and afternoon traffic in and around the Lower and Middle School Campus can be very busy! Parents are strongly encouraged to focus on the safety of all our children when arriving at school by following the safety procedures outlined below.

Bus Lane

We have a separate lane for bus use and another lane for car pick-up/drop-off. Please do not enter the bus lane between 8–9 a.m. or 2:30–3:30 p.m. The bus lane is dedicated for buses during the morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times to allow buses to safely load and unload students.

Student Pickup and Drop Off

Students being dropped off or picked up by private vehicles should do so along the school side of 42nd Street or in the parking lot drop-off lane. When entering the parking lot, please follow the arrows to the drop-off area, and pull your car forward as far as possible, allowing your children to exit onto the sidewalk. Please be aware of others behind you who are ready to be dropped off. All cars picking up students use the designated pick-up lane in the parking lot. Students should enter the car from the curb so they are not walking between cars or in the passing lane. No student will be allowed to enter the parking lot on foot without a parent or guardian walking alongside at all times.

No parking is permitted in the drop-off lane at any time. It is a fire lane and, therefore, it is illegal to park there at any time.

Please have your child(ren) ready to be dropped off. If children need extra time to get organized before exiting the vehicle, or if you must accompany your child into the building, please park in the lot or on the street.

Parking

Park in marked stalls only and observe all parking signs and yellow curbs. Please be aware of and observe posted parking restrictions on streets around the campus. Parking restrictions are enforced and illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed and towed. Many areas are posted "NO PARKING" during various times of the day and unattended vehicles in those zones may be ticketed. In addition, city ordinance states that no car can be parked within 20 feet of marked crosswalks and 30 feet of all stop signs and fire hydrants. Please be courteous to neighbors by not blocking driveways or walk-outs.

School Patrol

Please utilize and respect the school patrols. Fifth grade students serve as patrols in the morning. Their primary responsibility is to help students arrive safely to school. They are trained and take their jobs seriously. Please set a good example for your children by respecting the patrols and obeying the rules.

Upper School

Student/Parent Parking

Parking During School Hours: The west parking lot is available for students. Parents may use the east lot if you come to school during the school day.

Parking After School Hours: Both the east and west parking lots are unreserved and available for general parking after school hours. If attending soccer/lacrosse games, or other activities on the west side of the building, please park in the west lot as long as space is available. We remain sensitive to the needs of our neighbors and ask that you please avoid parking in front of homes at all times.

Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up

All drop-off and pick-up of students should be done in the east parking lot. Please enter the driveway, follow the driving aisle around to the entrance, then exit the lot. Please do not use the west lot.

Lower and Middle School Parking

Many sports practices and games are held at the Lower and Middle School. Please use extra caution when driving and parking to ensure the safety of the younger children. Parking is available after school and on weekends in the lot or along 42nd Street. Please be aware of posted parking restrictions and be considerate of the school’s neighbors.
