Minnehaha Academy students don’t just excel in the classroom and community. They also shine in math, on the stage, on the slopes and on the student council.

Despite our small class sizes, we offer a host of extracurricular activities for your child. Take a closer look:

Exploratory Learning Days

Exploratory Learning Days

At least twice every school year, all Middle School students, along with faculty and parent volunteers, explore other learning opportunities in our community. SERVE IT Day in the Fall allows advisory groups to develop their own one-day service projects. In the Spring, FLEX Day (Fun Learning EXploration) encourages students to participate in activities they have never experienced before.

Parties and Socials

Parties and Socials

Student Council hosts all-school parties to raise funds for school improvement projects. Party activities typically include a variety of games and activities in and around the building, food in the cafeteria, and a dance in the upper gym. Teachers and staff members supervise all party activities. Other social events are planned by grade level teams throughout the year.

Student Council

Student Council

Representatives from every advisor group are elected to the student council. This council provides student leadership for a variety of activities. They plan parties, sponsor food drives and other service projects, and support other student-led initiatives in the Middle School.

In February, the entire 7th grade class spends three days at a camp in “Up North.” Activities during the retreat are centered on friendship (strengthening existing relationships and developing new ones) and forming a class identity, as well as enjoying skiing, tubing, skating, basketball, floor hockey, and a “talent” night.
