Tuition Payment Plans

To assist families in budgeting for tuition payments, Minnehaha Academy offers these payment options:

• Plan A: Prepayment plan – a 3% prepayment discount is offered to families paying in full by July 25, 2008.
• Plan B: Two-payment plan – Half of the tuition and fees are payable by August 5, 2008, with the remaining balance due by January 20, 2009.
• Plan C: Budgeted payment plan – Budgeted payments are available through FACTS Tuition Management Plan by automatic bank withdrawal. This option has no interest or finance charges, but has an annual set up fee of $38. A $25 service fee will be charged by FACTS for any missed or NSF payments.
  - Available in quarterly payments (due in July, October, January, April)
  - Available in up to 11 monthly payments (July - May)
• Plan D: Credit card – This option is only available through FACTS Tuition Management Plan. Tuition may be charged to MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. If this option is used, payment may be done by option A, B, or C. If you elect to pay by credit card, you will be assessed a convenience fee by FACTS of approximately $2.50 per $100 charged, plus an annual processing fee that varies from $10 to $38 depending on the number of payments selected.

Any account not paid when due will be subject to a finance charge of 1.5% per month (18% APR) on the past due balance.

Financial Aid

Minnehaha Academy is committed to assisting qualified families with financial aid. Through our growing financial aid program, approximately, $1 million is awarded annually.

Financial aid is a grant from Minnehaha Academy, covering a portion of tuition, which is awarded to qualified students (entering Kindergarten through Grade 12) who have demonstrated financial need. Financial aid grants do not require repayment.

Decisions regarding financial aid are made separately from the admission process and are considered only after a student has been accepted for admission. Demonstrated economic need is the major criterion for receiving financial aid. To apply for financial aid, check the box on the admission application; the financial aid packet will be mailed to you in early January. Decisions for financial aid are made beginning in early April and continue until all funds are distributed.

In recent years, the average grant has been 49% of tuition. As families decide whether to accept financial aid, they should carefully consider their obligation to pay the remaining portion of tuition.

Student performance is also an important factor. All students receiving financial aid (new and returning) and their parents must sign a Financial Aid Contract that defines the expectations regarding a student’s satisfactory scholarship and conduct while attending Minnehaha Academy.

Applying for Financial Aid

Families applying for financial aid should contact the Minnehaha Academy Financial Aid Office for information as early as possible, because applications are considered on a first-come-first-served basis.

Requirements:

• February 1: Parents' Financial Statement is due at the School and Student Service for Financial Aid Office in Princeton, NJ.
• March 1: Copies of the Parents’ Financial Statement and your current year’s tax return are due at the Minnehaha Financial Aid office. Applications for aid will not be considered without a copy of your completed tax return for the current year.
