I. Early January:

Families are able to begin the online application process by going to http://sss.nais.org/parents.

II. By February 15th:

Deadline to complete the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) online.

III. By March 1st:

Copies of 2011 Federal Income Tax forms (1040) including all schedules and W-2’s are due by this date. Applications completed after the deadline will be considered only if funds are still available. ONLY FAMILIES WITH APPLICATION FILES COMPLETED BY MARCH 1st WILL BE ASSURED OF RECEIVING THE FULL AMOUNT OF ASSISTANCE FOR WHICH THEY ARE ELIGIBLE.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

If either parent is self-employed, the Business/Farm Statement (PDF) should also be submitted to SSS by NAIS.

In cases where the parents are separated, divorced or have never been married, BOTH parents must complete the application process in order for the student to be considered for assistance. Exceptions to this requirement must be made in writing to the Director of Financial Aid.

IV. Early April:

Mailing of decision letters will begin to the applicants whose applications are complete by March 1, 2012. Late applicants will receive notification of decisions when the application process is complete. Only those with complete application files will be processed.

V. Final Step:

To accept the assistance offered, signed grant contracts must be returned to the school within two weeks of the date of the contract or the aid will be forfeited and awarded to another student.
