Arts at Minnehaha Academy

Pursue your artistic talents at Minnehaha

theater

Minnehaha is well known for the high quality of its fine arts program and exceptional faculty. Whether it's Upper School students performing at Carnegie Hall or Lower School students singing the National Anthem at a Timberwolves game, the school calendar is sprinkled with concerts, plays and arts events. Each year, we have students who are members of the Minnesota All-State music ensemble.

We have more than 20 performing groups and involve students at every age and experience level.

Throughout Lower School, our students sing, draw, paint, sculpt, weave and make pottery. Strings and piano programs are offered in preschool through grade five. In fifthy grade, band and orchestra are offered.

In Middle School, students may continue taking art all three years, and the same is true of music and can choose choir, band or orhestra.

Once in Upper School, the arts continue, as students are required to take two years of visual or performing arts. Students can choose from drawing and painting, graphic design, sculpture and ceramics, film and video, as well as chorus, concert band, wind ensemble, orchestra and theater. Our musicians perform nationally and internationally.
