Thanksgiving in Kindergarten
November 18, 2011
The Kindergarten classes culminated their study of the first Thanksgiving by enjoying a feast of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, buns, cranberry sauce, stuffing and pumpkin pie. With the help of several parents, the teachers arranged the tables into one long table and set each place setting with care. The students each made their own placemats and placecards earlier in the week to use at the feast. Kindergartners also had to choose whether they wanted to wear their handmade Pilgrim hats or Native American headbands. When everything was ready, we all sat down and said a prayer of thanks together before we ate. What a special celebration!
