Minnehaha Academy mourns the passing of Deb Fondell

Long time and beloved social studies teacher Deb Fondell passed away on July 22nd following her courageous fight with lung cancer.
Deb taught for over 30 years at Minnehaha and touched the lives of thousands of students, parents and colleagues. Her bright smile, contagious laughter, encouraging words, and strong faith will be missed, but not forgotten.
She was a model for all who worked with her at Minnehaha and we were honored to have had the opportunity to serve along side her. She will be greatly missed.

Debora Louise Fondell
(May 26, 1955 - July 22, 2011)
Debora L. Fondell age 56 passed away Friday, July 22nd following a difficult struggle with cancer. Debbie was born on May 26th, 1955 in Dawson, Minnesota. She was a graduate of Lakeville High School, the University of Minnesota and Minnesota State University where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in education. She was a beloved teacher at Minnehaha Academy for thirty-one years. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and life-long member of Faith Covenant Church. Debbie is survived by her parents, Paul and Eileen Fondell; her sisters and brothers, Beth Fondell (Chuck Shreffler), Jan Fondell (Cynthia Reed), Doug Fondell (Jodi Mullen-Fondell) and Greg (Kirsten) Fondell; her nieces and nephews, Andrew (Rachel), Sarah, Ben, Isaac, Eva, Richard (Auden), Kevin and Scott. Debbie will be cherished in the memories of family, friends, and former students. Visitation will be Friday, July 29th from 4-8pm at White Funeral Home 12804 Nicollet Ave. S., Burnsville. Memorial service will be 1pm Saturday, July 30th, at Faith Covenant Church 12921 Nicollet Ave. S., Burnsville. Memorials are preferred to the organization of your choice.
