Ken Anderson Retires
December 6, 2011
After 33 years of faithful service as Minnehaha’s athletic director, Ken Anderson retired this December. A retirement party was held in Ken’s honor after school on December 1 in the Campus Room at North Campus, where his family, friends, colleagues and retired colleagues gathered to greet Ken and to wish him well. Following cake and coffee and fellowship, Principal Nancy Johnson kicked off a program that included a recap of Ken’s distinguished career and open-mic time featuring speakers Dr. Donna Harris, Ron Monson, alumna Meta Herrick Carlson, Rev. Dan Bergstrom, former Minnehaha president Craig Nelson, and others. Ken was then presented with a unique retirement gift: a piece of the old school gymnasium floor! The highlight of the afternoon came when Ken took the mic and reminisced about his three decades as athletic director. Ken recognized his coaches for their work and commitment to a Christ-centered athletic program, thanked his assistant Kris Anderson for her efficiency and friendship, and gave a special thanks to his family for their love and support. Ken’s retirement plans include golfing, golfing, and golfing.
