2011-2012 Supply Lists

Kindergarten

Please bring supplies to your before-school conference. Due to limited storage space, please do not send pencil boxes to school. Teachers will notify you when supplies need to be replenished. All supplies (except for crayons) should be marked with your child’s name using a permanent marker.

• Large, Strong Backpack
• 5 Pencils (sharpened)
• Small Pencil Sharpener that collects the shavings
• Scissors (metal blades, child-sized)
• Crayons (24, 48 or 64 count)
• Large Pink Eraser
• Large Colored T-shirt for painting (mom or dad’s old one works well)
• Large box of Kleenex
• 1” 3-Ring Binder (for Spanish)
• Spiral Notebook (to fit inside Spanish binder)
• Water Bottle (with non-spill top)
• Clorox / Lysol Disinfecting Wipes OR Hefty Gallon Zipper Bags

Bulk Supplies - We will order the following supplies in bulk from the Minnehaha bookstore and have them in our classroom. Please bring your checkbook to purchase them at your before-school conference. Kindergartners are welcome to bring their older sibling’s red MA t-shirt and/or rest mat.

First Grade

Due to limited desk storage space, please do not send 3-ring notebooks or Trapper Keepers with your child to school. Please label all school supplies and clothing (coats, hats, mittens, boots, etc.)

• Tennis Shoes (tied or Velcro - no zippers for P.E.)

Third Grade

Please label all supplies except the red pens, Kleenex, band-aids, and zip-lock bags.

• 1 Backpack to fit in (or on top of) a 10-1/2” deep x 11-1/2” wide locker
• Sturdy 3-ring binder with velcro or zipper closure (not plastic please)
• 20 3-hole punched, clear, plastic sleeves to fit 8 ½” x 11” papers
• 2 Spiral notebooks with non-perforated edges
• 1 Composition notebook
• 4 Folders (plastic, with the capacity to attach 3-hole punched paper inside in red, yellow, blue, and green)
• 1 Package wide or college ruled writing paper
• 1 Package colored pencils
• 1 Package crayons (Crayola)
• 4 Pack Expo ODORLESS dry erase markers (labeled)- any color
• Markers (both thick and thin)
• 2 Highlighters (yellow & color of choice)

• 1 Pack of 3M Post-It Notes (approximately 2”x2” - 8 per pack - any color)

• iPad - This year fifth graders are invited to bring a personal iPad to school to use in the classroom. We will have a small set we will share as a class, but those who would like may bring their own.
• Spell Checker, especially with dictionary (not necessary if you have an iPad)
• Locker Shelves (the sturdy metal shelves available in the bookstore work best)
• Students may purchase a rubber seat cushion for their seats which are available in the bookstore. Fifth grade does not use exercise balls.
