Middle School Social Studies Long-term Substitute Teaching Position

Minnehaha Academy has an opening for a Social Studies teacher in the Middle School, from approximately mid-September 2014 through December 19, 2014. This position is 67% of full-time; benefits are not available.

Qualifications include:

  • Previous successful teaching experience; Middle School Social Studies teaching experience strongly preferred
  • Depth of knowledge of American History and Geography; History major preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to engage learners and deliver rigorous curriculum
  • Demonstrated ability to assess student progress, analyze student data, and differentiate instruction accordingly
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and families
  • Minnesota Social Studies licensure or commensurate license from another state
  • Ability to relate the Christian faith to learning and life

Lower School Spanish Long-term Substitute Teaching Position

Minnehaha Academy has an opening for a full-time Spanish teacher in the Lower School, from approximately mid-October 2014 through approximately mid-January 2015.

Qualifications include:

  • Previous teaching experience; Spanish teaching experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to engage learners and deliver rigorous curriculum across PreK through 5th Grade students
  • Demonstrated ability to assess student progress and differentiate instruction accordingly
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and families
  • Minnesota K-12 Spanish teaching license or commensurate license from another state
  • Ability to relate the Christian faith to learning and life

Lower School Teaching Assistant

Minnehaha Academy has an opening for a Lower School Teaching Assistant beginning in August 2014. The position is for 5 days/week from 8:45-3:15.

Qualifications include:

  • Previous successful experience working with Lower School students and families
  • Demonstrated ability to positively engage Lower School students, provide support in delivering rigorous curriculum, and respond to the needs of individual students
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a critical support role
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and families
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a lead teacher in maintaining a safe, structured, and engaging environment for students
  • Minnesota teaching license or commensurate license from another state

Preschool Aide

Minnehaha Academy has an opening for a Preschool Aide beginning in August 2014. The position is for 3 days per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Qualifications include:

  • Previous successful experience working with preschool students and families
  • Demonstrated ability to positively engage preschool students and understand the developmental needs of preschool students
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a critical support role
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and families
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a lead teacher in maintaining a safe, structured, and engaging environment for preschool students
  • Understanding of and ability to comply with Minnesota Preschool licensure requirements
  • Ability to relate the Christian faith to learning and life

Pre-K-K Teacher Extended Day Program: Our program is open Monday through Friday during the school year. The hours for this position are 2:30pm to 6:00pm. During school breaks, there are also opportunities to work 4 to 6 hour shifts.

Qualifications include:

  • Elementary Education or Early Childhood license required
  • Passion for working and playing with children
  • Reliability and dependability
  • Strong people skills to interact with the children, parents, and staff
  • Ability to plan and implement age appropriate activities
  • Support and implement the mission of the school and Extended Day Program
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
