Head Girls Swimming and Diving Coach

Job Description:
Responsible for the Metro United girls swimming and diving program, which is a cooperative program consisting of St. Anthony, DeLaSalle, Mounds Park Academy, Minnehaha Academy, and St. Croix Lutheran, including all responsibilities for the varsity, JV, and diving teams.
Head coach will help hire and supervise assistant swim coaches in the program, in addition to overseeing the entire swim program (K-12). Superintendent Responsible for setting up meets, practices, and supervision of the athletes in the program. Must be able to adjust work schedule for games and practice. Head coach is responsible for care and maintenance of equipment and pool area. Meets regularly with coaches and evaluates goals and progress of swimming program. Assists in coordinating team transportation, communicates with parent group, arranges meet help and scorers, and plans off-season workouts and training programs. In addition, responsible for other duties outlined in the coaches handbook and as assigned.

Preferences:

Qualifications:

  1. Valid Minnesota coaching certificate or
  2. NFICEP Certified or
  3. Fulfills the following criteria:
    • In the judgment of the school board, the person has the knowledge and experience necessary to coach the sport; and
    • Can verify completion of six quarter credits, or the equivalent, or 60 clock hours of instruction in first aid and the care and prevention of athletic injuries; and
    • Can verify completion of a coaching methods or theory course.
  4. Must be WSI or Lifeguard certified.
  5. Ability to organize and supervise a total swimming and diving program.
  6. Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the swimming.

Teacher – Extended Day Program: 15 – 20 hours per week from 2:30 – 6PM; Monday-Friday, school year months only, with 6 – 8 hour days available during school breaks
