Minnehaha Academy is seeking to create a short list of licensed nurses who would be available substitute for one day or a couple days at a time. The need is only during the school year and school days and the hours would be 8:15 – 3:30.

School Nurse – Substitute:

Qualifications for the position include:

  • Registered Nurse (RN); Licensed School Nurse (LSN) preferred
  • Experience working with Lower and Middle school students preferred
  • Able to build rapport and maintain confidentiality with students, parents, and faculty
  • Previous experience working in a school preferred
  • Ability to support Minnehaha Academy’s mission

Varsity Coach – Alpine Skiing (seasonal)

Qualifications include:

  • Coaching experience in Alpine Skiing – Upper & Middle Schools
  • Provide Oversight for all Alpine Skiing, Grades 7 – 12 (applicable to Head Varsity Coach)
  • Adherence to Coaches Code of Ethics

Drama Teaching Position

Minnehaha Academy Middle School has an opening for a teacher in the Middle School for the 2017-2018 school-year, from August 2017 through June 2018. The position is 40% of full-time. This teacher will:

  • Teach 2 trimester classes of 8th grade Drama
  • Teach portions of three 6th grade Integrated Arts classes; each class is 1 trimester
  • Direct the annual Middle School play
  • Provide technical support for production needs across the Lower & Middle school (e.g.; set-up for sound equipment for concerts and school programs)

Qualifications include:

  • Ability to effectively engage and challenge Middle School students
  • Ability to develop lessons and activities that promote student engagement and development of student performance, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and families
  • Ability to integrate the Christian faith within the classroom
  • Middle School teaching experience preferred

Lower & Middle School Office Manager

Minnehaha Academy has an immediate opening for a full-time Office Manager. This new position will be a critical role, supporting the Principal and the larger school community. The Office Manager will have broad responsibility, including to:

  • Facilitate communications from the Principal’s office
  • Weekly broadcast to families
  • Internal messages to faculty and staff
  • Use of social media
  • Serve as the liaison for parent groups in budgeting and planning for logistics
  • Manage Lower & Middle School budgets
  • Ongoing review of budgets for monthly reports to the Principal
  • Monthly reports to faculty
  • Manage the Principal’s calendar, including coordinating both internal and external meetings
  • Provide administrative support to the Principal
  • Coordinate crisis management plans
  • Create annual drill schedule
  • Update crisis management plans for classrooms
  • Provide crisis management training
  • Provide support for Lower School Student Support Team (SST)
  • Provide support for Title II; coordinating funding requests and reimbursements
  • Provide general support within the office as needed

  • Bachelors ‘ degree in Chinese or Curriculum and Instruction required
  • Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese
