Minnehaha Academy has an opening for a Upper School Spanish Teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. The FTE (full-time equivalency) will be 60%.

Qualifications include:

  • Previous secondary Spanish teaching experience; ability to teach all levels of Spanish
  • Demonstrated ability to engage students academically and help them achieve success in their learning
  • Experience with incorporating newer technology into a high school classroom
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to cultivate positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to relate the Christian faith to learning and life, integrating into the classroom
  • State licensure required

Minnehaha Academy has an opening for a Middle School Orchestra Teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. The FTE (full-time equivalency) will be 60%.

Qualifications include:

  • Previous successful experience teaching and directing in a Middle School setting
  • Ability to effectively engage and challenge Middle School students
  • Ability to develop and implement a strong vision for a comprehensive Middle School orchestra program
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and families, including serving on a Middle School grade level team
  • Minnesota licensure in Instrumental Music and/or commensurate license from another state
  • Ability to integrate the Christian faith within the classroom

Minnehaha Academy seeks substitute teachers for the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools:

Minnehaha Academy’s Summer Programs has a variety of part-time openings during the summer months of June – August, 2016:

Summer Programs – Specialty Teachers needed:
Each session is typically a week or two weeks long, half or full days; each specialty camp runs one to five times over the summer. Current teacher openings in a few specialty areas are listed below. More detailed descriptions of each class can be found on the MA website (www.minnehahaacademy.net) by clicking on Summer Programs.

  • Summer Academy – Grades 1-8, age appropriate academic support, teaching license required (mornings; two week sessions from June 13 – August 5 & a one week session August 8-12)
  • Tennis – age appropriate introduction of tennis (mornings July 5-8 for grades 3-5 and mornings July 11-15 for grades 6-8)
  • All Sports – Grades K-2, age appropriate introduction of baseball, kickball, basketball, etc. (afternoons June 13-17)
  • Baseball – Grades 3-5, age appropriate building of baseball skills, includes transportation to/from Twins Game (afternoons June 20 – 24)

General qualifications for each position include:

  • Passion for working and playing with children
  • Strong people skills to interact with the children, parents, and staff
  • Minimum of two years experience working with children in a church, school, or camp setting preferred
  • Ability to plan and implement age appropriate activities
  • Ability to support and implement the mission of the school; comfortable leading or participating in prayer and devotions
  • CPR/First Aid Certification a plus

Minnehaha Academy has an opening for a Pre-School/Kindergarten teacher for our 2016 Summer Programs, June 13th – August 12th .

PreSchool/Kindergarten Teacher:

Qualifications include:

  • Early childhood and/or kindergarten experience preferred
  • Must have Early Education licensure or equivalent experience
  • Strong relational skills to effectively work with children as well as staff and parents
  • Ability to relate the Christian faith to learning and life

Minnehaha Academy’s Camp Minnehaha Program has a Music and Drama specialist opening, (includes instruction for PreK-K, 1-2, 3-4, 5-8) throughout the summer from June 13 – August 12, 2016. Hours are 8 AM – 1 PM, Monday through Friday.

Music and Drama Specialist – Camp Minnehaha:
(25 hours per week, summer months as stated above)

Qualifications include:

  • Passion for working with children
  • Strong people skills to interact with the children, parents and staff
  • Minimum of one year experience working with children in a church, school or camp setting preferred
  • Ability to plan/implement age appropriate music and drama activities
  • Ability to support and implement the mission of the school; comfortable leading or participating in prayer and devotions
  • CPR/First Aid Certification a plus

Minnehaha Academy’s Camp Minnehaha Program has a Science Specialist opening, (includes instruction for PreK-K, 1-2, 3-4, 5-8) throughout the summer from June 13 – August 12, 2016. Hours are 8 AM – 1 PM, Monday through Thursday.

Science Specialist – Camp Minnehaha:
(20 hours per week, summer months as stated above)

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum of one year experience working with children in a church, school or camp setting preferred
  • Ability to plan/implement age appropriate science activities
  • Ability to support and implement the mission of the school; comfortable leading or participating in prayer and devotions

Lead Counselor – Camp Minnehaha:
(40 hours per week, summer months as stated above)

  • Minimum of one year experience working with children in a church, school or camp setting preferred
  • Ability to plan/implement age appropriate activities
  • Ability to support and implement the mission of the school; comfortable leading or participating in prayer and devotions
  • CPR/First Aid Certification a plus

Counselor – Camp Minnehaha:

  • Strong people skills to interact with the children, parents and staff
  • Prior experience working with children in a church, school or camp setting a plus
  • Ability to coordinate age appropriate activities
  • Ability to support and implement the mission of the school; comfortable leading or participating in prayer and devotions
