Extended Day and Summer

Minnehaha Academy is seeking a College & Guidance Counselor beginning in December, 2016.

Qualifications include:

  • Previous experience in a high school College & Guidance Counseling office with identifying appropriate college opportunities, coordinating standardized testing, developing and presenting programs to classes, and helping with social and emotional situations in students’ lives. Experience as a college or university advisor will be considered. Licensure in school counseling preferred.
  • Strong interest in being a part of a counseling office that exhibits a passion and drive for meeting the academic, social, and emotional needs of individual students.
  • Self-starter with existing connections and experience in college admissions possessing the networking/public relations skills required to build, promote and maintain the positive reputation of Minnehaha Academy in the collegiate realm.
  • Excellent organizational as well as written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with students, parents, college and university representatives, and other external organizations.
  • Interest in and willingness to travel to visit colleges and universities to reinforce and establish connections between colleges and universities with Minnehaha Academy.
  • Experience and comfort with technology integration in the workplace.
  • Strong team player, with an ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Motivation to relate the Christian faith to learning and life.

Minnehaha Academy has the following seasonal coaching opportunity:

Nordic Ski Varsity Assistant Coach – Winter ‘16/17

Qualifications include:

  • Nordic Coaching experience with high school age athletes
  • Experience racing at a high school, college or senior/masters level.
  • Adherence to Coaches Code of Ethics
  • Ability to effectively communicate with athletes, coaches and parents
  • Ability to relate the Christian faith to learning and life
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid a plus

Minnehaha Academy seeks substitute teachers for the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools:

Minnehaha Academy Extended Day Program is currently seeking to fill the following paid positions starting in August:

1st-2nd  Grade Teacher
6th-8th   Grade Teacher

Extended  Day  Program Information:

Our program is open Monday through Friday during the school year. The hours for this position are 2:45 pm to 6:00 pm. During school breaks, there are also opportunities to work 4 to 6 hour shifts.

Qualifications include:

  • Passion for working with children
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Strong people skills to interact with the children, parents, and staff
  • Minimum of one-year experience working with children in a church, school, daycare, or camp setting preferred
  • Ability to plan and implement age appropriate activities
  • Support and implement the mission of the school and the Extended Day Program
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred

Minnehaha Academy has an immediate opening for a part-time/seasonal:

Ice Arena Attendant

Qualifications include:

  • Ability to follow direction and work independently
  • Ability to positively interact with coaches, students and parents
  • Dependable and responsible
  • Previous ice arena experience a plus
  • Needs own transportation for flexible hours
  • Driver’s License required

Job Summary:

  • Mid October – March
  • General maintenance of the arena
  • Maintenance of Ice Sheet/operation of ice resurfacer
  • Includes evening and/or weekend hours
  • 12 – 15 hours per week average
