Extended Day Staff

Our program is open Monday through Friday during the school year.  The hours for this position are 2:45pm to 6:00pm for the 2019-2020 school year.  During school breaks, there are also opportunities to work 4 to 6 hour shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for working and playing with children
  • Reliability and dependability
  • Age 16 or older
  • Strong people skills to interact with the children, parents, and staff
  • Minimum of one-year experience working with children in a church, school, daycare, or camp setting preferred
  • Ability to plan and implement age appropriate activities
  • Support and implement the mission of the school and the Extended Day Program
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred

Extended Day 6th-8th Grade Teacher

Front Desk/Commons Area Coordinator

Minnehaha Academy has an opening beginning August, 2019 for a Front Desk/Commons Area Coordinator for the North Campus. Hours for this position will primarily be week days from 3:30 PM – 8 PM (some flexibility of hours may occur).

In addition to serving as a first point of contact for incoming visitors to the building, this person will monitor scheduled activities throughout the building based on the nightly schedule

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication, customer service and organizational skills
  • Past receptionist and/or front door security experience preferred
  • Past experience working with high school age students as well as adults
  • Competent with commonly used technology
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Comfortable directing people to activities as well as ensuring all personnel leave the building before closing.

School Nurse (Substitute)

Minnehaha Academy is seeking to create a short list of licensed nurses who would be available substitute for one day or a couple days at a time. The need is only during the school year and school days and the hours would be 8:15 – 3:30.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN); Licensed School Nurse (LSN) preferred
  • Experience working with Lower and Middle school students preferred
  • Able to build rapport and maintain confidentiality with students, parents, and faculty
  • Previous experience working in a school preferred
  • Ability to support Minnehaha Academy’s mission

Night Custodian (35 hrs/week):

Minnehaha Academy has an immediate opening at our Upper School Campus, 1345 Mendota Heights Rd., Mendota Heights, MN:

Qualifications:

  • Dependability (Monday – Friday, 3:00PM – 10PM)
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Potential to work extra hours if needed at night or on week-end
  • Past cleaning experience preferred
  • Requires lifting/moving up to 75 pounds and hauling garbage, etc. up stairs or ramps
  • Ability to positively interact with students, parent, faculty and staff while taking pride in maintaining a clean facility

Reading Specialist (Long-Term Substitute):

Minnehaha Academy has an opening for a full-time Reading Specialist for a 12-week family leave between late September and late December. This position serves students in Kindergarten through 5thgrade.

Primary Functions:

  • Work with individual students identified as needing additional support in reading.
  • Serve on our Lower School Student Support Team, use data to inform intervention and programming decisions, and host data and information sessions for classroom teachers at the Lower School Data Days.
  • Partner with classroom teachers to support reading growth within the classroom.
  • Partner with families to communicate about school-based interventions as well as resources and strategies to use at home.

Qualifications:

  • Previous teaching experience; experience as a Reading Specialist strongly preferred; experience with Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention program
  • Demonstrated ability to engage learners in small groups and to quickly build rapport and trust
  • Demonstrated ability to assess student progress and differentiate instruction accordingly
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and families
  • Minnesota teaching license or commensurate license from another state; Reading license strongly preferred
  • Ability to relate the Christian faith to learning and life

Donor Database Manager

Minnehaha Academy has an immediate opening for a Donor Database Manager within our Institutional Advancement Office.  This position includes full benefits including a generous tuition remission package.

This position is responsible for stewarding and administering all aspects of appropriate and accurate donor records as well as management and oversight of Raiser’s Edge to ensure data integrity, donor receipting and acknowledgement, queries, reporting and analysis. This individual communicates and represents these efforts to the advancement and business offices, other school areas, auditors and donors.  This position will also provide support for fundraising events and other department activities.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience using Raiser’s Edge NXT Web and Database views.
  • Proficiency in recurring and 3rd party gift entry 
  • Proficiency in letter Templates and Online Express
  • Proficiency in Prospect Tab and Researchpoint 
  • Raiser’s Edge Certification and experience with Importacular preferred
  • Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven ability to effectively manage a comprehensive donor record program
  • Understanding of philanthropic giving guidelines and non-profit fund accounting procedures
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with ability to carefully proof and edit materials
  • Experience preparing donor information for Annual Reports
  • Ability to relate well and communicate effectively with constituencies, through written, telephonic and personal communication vehicles
  • Ability to work independently and actively participate within a team
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing deadlines, priorities and new tasks as assigned

Bus Drivers – Part-Time

Minnehaha Academy has an opening for a part-time Bus Driver with primary hours between 3pm – 9pm on week days and some Saturdays. Bus drivers will transport students between campuses, to other schools and possible field trips.

 Qualifications for the job include:

  • Appropriate licensure to operate a school bus
  • Previous experience driving bus preferred
  • Strong people skills to effectively interact with children, parents and staff
  • Knowledge of the Twin Cities area a plus
