Ice Arena Assistant/Grounds Assistant

Minnehaha Academy has an immediate full-time opening to work as ice arena assistant in the fall/winter months and as a grounds assistant in the spring/summer months.

Qualifications for the job include:

  • Ability to follow direction and work independently
  • Ability to positively interact with coaches, students and parents
  • Aptitude for mechanical and general maintenance and willingness to learn
  • Dependable and responsible
  • Includes evening and week-end hours during peak season
  • Able to lift / carry / pull up to 35 pounds frequently and infrequently lift up to 100 pounds
  • Previous ice arena experience preferred / previous grounds maintenance preferred
  • Needs own transportation for flexible hours

Job Summary:

  • General maintenance of the arena and grounds based on season of year
  • Maintenance of Ice Sheet
  • Maintenance of Ice Resurfacer
  • Yearly installation of dasher boards, ice sheet
  • Training of part-time seasonal help

Purchasing and Operations Manager

Minnehaha Academy is seeking a Purchasing & Operations Manager in our Business Office. This individual’s responsibilities are broad in nature and provide the opportunity to interact with faculty and staff at all levels of our organization and community.

Qualifications include: (full-time, year-round position)

  • Previous purchasing or business office experience preferred to understand accounting practices and purchasing procedures
  • Good organizational and follow-through skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong people/interpersonal skills with strong oral & written communication skills to be able to relate well with employees, vendors, parents and students
  • Strong decision-making skills and initiative
  • Creative problem solver with ability to multi-task a diverse workload and effectively prioritize
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with Minnehaha Academy a plus
  • Physically able to lift 50 pounds for sending and receiving shipments

Evening Custodian

Minnehaha Academy has an immediate opening located at 4200 W. River Parkway for an Evening Custodian – Part-Time 75%

 Qualifications for this part-time position include:

Staff Accountant and Human Resource Specialist

Minnehaha Academy is seeking a part (60%) Staff Accountant/Human Resource Specialist for our school.

STAFF ACCOUNTANT – Primary Responsibilities

  • Post daily deposits
  • Weekly journal entries
  • Monthly reconciliations, including bank, benefit providers, copier/printing charges
  • Credit card processing and posting to general ledger
  • Comply with legal, regulatory and institutional reporting standards

HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST – Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the payroll and benefit systems and HR reporting
  • On-Boarding of new hires
  • Projects as assigned


  • Associates or Bachelors Accounting Degree
  • 1 – 3 years accounting experience, including reconciliations
  • Demonstrated ability to provide detailed, accurate, timely financial data
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • HR and/or Payroll experience a plus
  • Positive attitude and team player
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.

School Nurse – Substitute

Minnehaha Academy is seeking to create a short list of licensed nurses who would be available substitute for one day or a couple days at a time. The need is only during the school year and school days and the hours would be 8:15 – 3:30.

Qualifications for the position include:

  • Registered Nurse (RN); Licensed School Nurse (LSN) preferred
  • Experience working with Lower and Middle school students preferred
  • Able to build rapport and maintain confidentiality with students, parents, and faculty
  • Previous experience working in a school preferred
  • Ability to support Minnehaha Academy’s mission

Substitute Teachers:

Minnehaha Academy seeks substitute teachers for the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools.

Qualifications for the position include:

Varsity Coach – Alpine Skiing (seasonal)

Qualifications for the position include:

  • Coaching experience in Alpine Skiing – Upper & Middle Schools
  • Provide Oversight for all Alpine Skiing, Grades 7 – 12 (applicable to Head Varsity Coach)
  • Adherence to Coaches Code of Ethics
  • Ability to relate the Christian faith to learning and life

6th-8th Grade Teacher – Extended Day:

Our program is open Monday through Friday during the school year. The hours for this position are 2:45pm to 6:00pm. During school breaks, there are also opportunities to work 4 to 6 hour shifts.

Qualifications for the position include:

  • Passion for working with children
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Strong people skills to interact with the children, parents, and staff
  • Minimum of one-year experience working with children in a church, school, daycare, or camp setting preferred
  • Ability to plan and implement age appropriate activities
  • Support and implement the mission of the school and the Extended Day Program
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred

Art Teacher- Part Time

Minnehaha Academy is looking for a part-time Art teacher to teach two painting classes at our Upper School campus serving Grades 9-12, starting January 22nd, 2018.

Qualifications for the position include:

  • Experience with a range of painting mediums, including watercolor, acrylic and oil paints
  • Experience with a range of painting techniques within different mediums.
  • Experience with the concepts of color theory
  • Experience with creating frames and stretching canvas 
  • Prior teaching experience is encouraged
  • Must be able to creatively inspire students and manage the logistical challenges of running a painting studio with limited space. 
  • Strong team player, with an ability to collaborate effectively with others
  • Ability to relate the Christian faith to learning and life.
