Executive Director of Faith Formation

Minnehaha Academy’s Executive Director of Faith Formation is a visionary and proven leader who plans strategically to design, develop, and implement faith formation at the Lower, Middle, and Upper School in a holistic way. Leading our spiritual life strategy is the core responsibility of this role, which will be accomplished through an inclusive approach that honors our individual and corporate needs, current practices, culture, values, and aligns to our deep Covenant roots. As such, this individual will also strive to work collaboratively with the Northwest Conference, the owner and sole member of the school.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in working with multiple stakeholders to cultivate and nurture faith formation across all constituent groups, creating a comprehensive plan to address needs. Ministry, strategic planning, administration, and pastoral experience are critical for this role, as well as exceptional relational, organizational, and project implementation skills. This individual must also possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be adept at presenting in both small and large group settings.

The Executive Director of Faith Formation will share supervisory authority with principals to lead Bible faculty and all other positions created for the purpose of faith formation. The successful candidate will support the integration of faith formation elements in bible classes and non-class activities such as chapels, advisories, mission trips, CFE, outreaches, class retreats, and leadership development. He or She will also have functional responsibility to cast vision, serve, teach, train, equip and empower fellow administrators, faculty, staff, trustees, volunteers, and the student and parent community.

Job Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in theological studies and/or other relevant areas of study
  • Ordained by the ECC or willingness to seek or transfer ordination to the ECC
  • Demonstrated competency in leading staff and volunteers
  • Experience in a school environment

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated competency in chaplain care as outlined by common standards for professional chaplaincy
  • A minor or secondary degree in a business-related field or proven experience

Leadership – The Executive Director of Faith Formation will be a member of the Senior Executive Leadership Team, responsible for strategic decision making, and will report directly to the President.

Executive Assistant to the President: (full-time, 12-month per year position)

The executive assistant to the president supports and promotes the mission of Minnehaha Academy and supports Minnehaha Academy’s president and the Board of Trustees in their strategic leadership and management of the school. The executive assistant to the president of school provides administrative and operational support to the president and the Board of Trustees that is confidential, professional and timely. Possessing excellent organizational, writing, and editing skills and an ability to anticipate the needs of the president’s office, the executive assistant takes initiative to make the work of the president and board more efficient.

The executive assistant brings five or more years experience in supporting executive-level leaders, is able to work flexible hours as needed, including some evenings and weekends. Past experience in a private school environment or other non-profit is a plus.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Builds strong relationships with a broad constituent group including Board members, administration, parents, faculty, staff, students and vendors
  • Coordinates a wide variety of projects, activities and/or events for the president and the Board
  • Prepares schedules and makes arrangements for Board of Trustee and subcommittee meetings
  • Maintains board website, including documents, minutes, agendas, and resolutions for board and subcommittees and assists the chairs of the subcommittees as requested
  • Schedules calendar for the president and coordinates all meeting and travel arrangements
  • Screens and directs phone calls for the president and drafts, as appropriate, correspondences from the president’s office
  • Maintains and processes a wide variety of manual and electronic documents files and records, including the president’s office files and expense reports, for the purpose of providing up-to-date information and/or historical reference in accordance with the day-to-day activities of the president’s office
  • Participates fully in the life of the school
  • Manages confidential situations with discretion, respect and sensitivity
  • Supports cyclical accreditation and strategic planning work and other special projects
  • Supports the Department of Human Resources in functions related to the president’s office.
  • Monitors a variety of activities on behalf of the president and the Board of Trustees (e.g. procedures, policy statements, public relations issues, account balances, budgeting etc.) for the purpose of achieving goals and meeting target goals/dates.
  • Participates in a variety of meetings for the purpose of providing or receiving information, recording minutes and supporting the needs of attendees.
  • Prepares a wide variety of complex written materials for the purpose of communicating information, creating reports or other types of documentation
  • Responds to a wide variety of calls, concern and/or complaints, analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the president’s office

Assistant Technology Director: Minnehaha Academy is seeking a full-time infrastructure, data systems, and communications administrator to advance the mission of the school through the implementation and support of information technology and meeting the needs of students, faculty and staff. The Assistant Technology Director manages the school’s technology infrastructure including Google administration, hardware inventory, website support using WordPress, and a variety of online services. Other responsibilities include direct user support for hardware, software, application issues. Additional critical aspects of this role include working collaboratively with other IT staff and administrators, recommending strategic insights that contribute to the overall direction of technology initiatives and integration, and strong commitment to customer service in responding to and anticipating needs of administrators, faculty and staff.

Qualifications include:

  • A degree in computer science, Master’s a plus, or equivalent experience with demonstrated continuous learning, anticipating technological advances and needs.
  • Knowledge of technology infrastructure and support including server-level equipment and networks.
  • Technical knowledge of and ability to manage online communication systems and data services, such as Google administration.
  • Ability to research, support and troubleshoot numerous hardware peripherals, software and apps in a Mac and PC environment.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills with strong attention to details and the ability to multi-task and assess priorities.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills with past management experience of initiatives and people preferred.

Minnehaha Academy is seeking to fill the role of Ice Arena and Transportation Manager. This position is approximately a 10 month position, primarily school year months. It is benefit eligible and includes a tuition remission package for enrolled dependents.

Qualifications include:

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, contract providers, parents and students
  • Ability to prepare and manage an annual budget for the ice arena and transportation operations while negotiating and managing contract bids to meet needs of the school
  • Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive parent/student inquiries and reported disciplinary issues
  • Ability to gather contract bids, determining best fit for the transportation needs of Minnehaha Academy with knowledge of state regulated policies on student transportation
  • Ability to work with the Minneapolis Public School Transportation Department regarding Non Public School Transportation Reimbursement
  • Understanding of or able to quickly learn the management of an ice arena, ensuring proper regulations and procedures are followed; will include some weekend work during ice season
  • Market the ice arena to its full capacity, including school needs and external rentals such as the current Learn to Skate Program with Minneapolis Public Schools

Minnehaha Academy is seeking to create a short list of licensed nurses who would be available substitute for one day or a couple days at a time. The need is only during the school year and school days and the hours would be 8:15 – 3:30.

Minnehaha Academy has an immediate opening for a Donor Database Manager within our Institutional Advancement Office. This position is a .80 time position, with full benefits including a generous tuition remission package.

Summary: This position is responsible for stewarding and administering all aspects of appropriate and accurate donor records as well as management and oversight of Raiser’s Edge to ensure data integrity, donor receipting and acknowledgement, queries, reporting and analysis. This individual communicates and represents these efforts to the advancement and business offices, other school areas, auditors and donors. This position will also provide support for fundraising events and other department activities.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience with Raiser’s Edge database management, including Online Express, is required. Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT and in the oversight and management of Raiser’s Edge users is preferred.
  • Experience designing and implementing complex queries and reports for data analysis
  • Competency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven ability to effectively manage a comprehensive donor record program
