Extended Day and Summer

PreK – Kindergarten Teacher Extended Day Program

Our program is open Monday through Friday during the school year. The hours for this position are 2:30pm to 6:00pm for the 2015-2016 school year. During school breaks, there are also opportunities to work 4 to 6 hour shifts.

Qualifications include:

  • Elementary Education or Early Childhood license required
  • Passion for working and playing with children
  • Reliability and dependability
  • Strong people skills to interact with the children, parents, and staff
  • Ability to plan and implement age appropriate activities
  • Support and implementing the mission of the school and Extended Day Program
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred

1st – 2nd Grade Teacher Extended Day Program

Our program is open Monday through Friday during the school year. The hours for this position are 2:45pm to 6:00pm for the 2015-2016 school year. During school breaks, there are also opportunities to work 4 to 6 hour shifts.

  • Minimum of one-year experience working with children in a church, school, daycare, or camp setting preferred

Middle School Band Teacher

Minnehaha Academy is a Christian school and a ministry of the Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church of America.  Our mission is to provide a high quality education integrating faith and learning.

Minnehaha Academy has an opening for a Middle School Band teacher beginning the 2015-2016 school year. This position is full-time.

Qualifications for the position include:

  • Previous successful experience teaching and directing in a Middle School setting
  • Ability to effectively engage and challenge Middle School students
  • Ability to develop and implement a strong vision for a comprehensive Middle School band program
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and families, including serving on a Middle School grade level team
  • Minnesota licensure in Instrumental Music and/or commensurate license from another state
  • Ability to integrate the Christian faith within the classroom

Evening Custodian – Part-Time 50%

Qualifications include:

  • Dependability (Monday – Friday, 4 PM  – 8 PM)
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Cleaning experience preferred
  • Ability to support the mission of our school
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds with frequent lifting and bending required

Day Custodian

Minnehaha Academy has an immediate full-time custodian opening at our North Campus including light maintenance:

Custodian (85 – 100% of full-time, benefits eligible)

Qualification for this position include:

  • Dependability (Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm)
  • Willingness to learn
  • Willingness to work some overtime as needed
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Past cleaning experience required
  • Maintenance experience helpful
  • Requires lifting/moving up to 75 pounds; and hauling garbage, etc. up ramps
  • Comfortable working heights using lifts to replace/repair light fixtures, etc. in high ceilings
  • Ability to positively interact with students as well as colleagues, while taking pride in maintaining a clean facility

Grounds Assistant

Grounds Assistant – qualifications for this position include:

  • Dependability (Monday – Friday, 7:30AM – 4PM)
  • Able to work some week-day overtime as well as extra hours throughout peak snow season
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Previous grounds experience preferred
  • Past maintenance experience and mechanical skills preferred
  • Ability to positively interact with students, faculty and staff while taking pride in maintaining the grounds
  • Needs valid driver’s license in good standing for use of school vehicles
  • Needs own transportation given extended/flexible work hours during snow plowing season

Human Resources Manager

Human Resources Manager (50% of full-time)

The role of the Human Resources Manager supports the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing and evaluating human resources polices, programs and practices and reports to the Director of Human Resources.

Minnehaha Academy has a seasonal opening for Varsity coach beginning the 2015-­2016 school year:

Varsity Coach ­ Alpine Ski (seasonal) Qualifications include:

  • Coaching experience in Alpine Skiing – Upper & Middle Schools
