Executive Director of Faith Formation

Minnehaha Academy’s Executive Director of Faith Formation is a visionary and proven leader who plans strategically to design, develop, and implement faith formation at the Lower, Middle, and Upper School in a holistic way. Leading our spiritual life strategy is the core responsibility of this role, which will be accomplished through an inclusive approach that honors our individual and corporate needs, current practices, culture, values, and aligns to our deep Covenant roots. As such, this individual will also strive to work collaboratively with the Northwest Conference, the owner and sole member of the school.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in working with multiple stakeholders to cultivate and nurture faith formation across all constituent groups, creating a comprehensive plan to address needs. Ministry, strategic planning, administration, and pastoral experience are critical for this role, as well as exceptional relational, organizational, and project implementation skills. This individual must also possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be adept at presenting in both small and large group settings.

The Executive Director of Faith Formation will share supervisory authority with principals to lead Bible faculty and all other positions created for the purpose of faith formation. The successful candidate will support the integration of faith formation elements in bible classes and non-class activities such as chapels, advisories, mission trips, CFE, outreaches, class retreats, and leadership development. He or She will also have functional responsibility to cast vision, serve, teach, train, equip and empower fellow administrators, faculty, staff, trustees, volunteers, and the student and parent community.

Job Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in theological studies and/or other relevant areas of study
  • Ordained by the ECC or willingness to seek or transfer ordination to the ECC
  • Demonstrated competency in leading staff and volunteers
  • Experience in a school environment


  • Demonstrated competency in chaplain care as outlined by common standards for professional chaplaincy
  • A minor or secondary degree in a business-related field or proven experience

Leadership – The Executive Director of Faith Formation will be a member of the Senior Executive Leadership Team, responsible for strategic decision making, and will report directly to the President.

Minnehaha Academy is seeking to fill the role of Ice Arena and Transportation Manager. This position is approximately a 10 month position, primarily school year months. It is benefit eligible and includes a tuition remission package for enrolled dependents.

Qualifications include:

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, contract providers, parents and students
  • Ability to prepare and manage an annual budget for the ice arena and transportation operations while negotiating and managing contract bids to meet needs of the school
  • Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive parent/student inquiries and reported disciplinary issues
  • Ability to gather contract bids, determining best fit for the transportation needs of Minnehaha Academy with knowledge of state regulated policies on student transportation
  • Ability to work with the Minneapolis Public School Transportation Department regarding Non Public School Transportation Reimbursement
  • Understanding of or able to quickly learn the management of an ice arena, ensuring proper regulations and procedures are followed; will include some weekend work during ice season
  • Market the ice arena to its full capacity, including school needs and external rentals such as the current Learn to Skate Program with Minneapolis Public Schools
  • Prior management of programs and people preferred
  • Previous school transportation and/or ice arena management experience preferred

Minnehaha Academy is seeking to create a short list of licensed nurses who would be available substitute for one day or a couple days at a time. The need is only during the school year and school days and the hours would be 8:15 – 3:30.

School Nurse – Substitute:

Qualifications for the position include:

  • Registered Nurse (RN); Licensed School Nurse (LSN) preferred
  • Experience working with Lower and Middle school students preferred
  • Able to build rapport and maintain confidentiality with students, parents, and faculty

Minnehaha Academy has an immediate opening for a Donor Database Manager within our Institutional Advancement Office. This position is a .80 time position, with full benefits including a generous tuition remission package.

Summary: This position is responsible for stewarding and administering all aspects of appropriate and accurate donor records as well as management and oversight of Raiser’s Edge to ensure data integrity, donor receipting and acknowledgement, queries, reporting and analysis. This individual communicates and represents these efforts to the advancement and business offices, other school areas, auditors and donors. This position will also provide support for fundraising events and other department activities.


  • 2+ years experience with Raiser’s Edge database management, including Online Express, is required. Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT and in the oversight and management of Raiser’s Edge users is preferred.
  • Experience designing and implementing complex queries and reports for data analysis
  • Competency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven ability to effectively manage a comprehensive donor record program
  • Understanding of philanthropic giving guidelines and non-profit fund accounting procedures
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with ability to carefully proof and edit materials
  • Ability to relate well and communicate effectively with constituencies, through written, telephonic and personal communication vehicles
  • Ability to work independently and actively participate within a team
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing deadlines, priorities and new tasks as assigned

Sacred Studies / Bible Teaching Position

Minnehaha Academy Middle School has an opening for a Bible teacher in the Middle School for the 2017-2018 school-year, from August 2017 through June 2018. The position is 67% of full-time. This teacher will teach multiple sections of our Middle School Bible classes.

Qualifications Include:

  • Ability to effectively engage and challenge Middle School students
  • Ability to develop lessons and activities that promote dialogue and develop student skills to engage and understand Scripture
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and families, including serving on a Middle School grade level team
