On Saturday April 12 we celebrated the Fabulous Fifties at our annual Benefit Auction and Gala. The day started out with snow but when the event began no one even noticed the weather due to the excitement being created by all the auction goers and their incredible dressing in the theme. The night was a huge success! The addition of Karen Sorbo '78 as our auctioneer brought the event to a new level. Whether participating in the live auction or not, it was just fun to watch Karen do her auctioneer stuff. The event has been growing the last 2 years. It is exciting to see new people attend the auction. We took in over $70,000 for our financial aid program - THANK YOU! Thank you to Mycie Tew, who was the event co-chair. She did an awesome job. Thank you to co-chairs of the various depts. The numerous hours that are given to the school to make this event happen do not go unnoticed. Thank you to all the parents who helped in so many different ways - you are appreciated. Thank you to all who donate items for the auction and to all who attend - without you there would be no event. Mark your calendar for April 4, 2009 to celebrate the State Fair at the Earle Brown Hertitage Center with Karen Sorbo. Jane Anfang, Special Events Manager |
